Apart from the Lucania Film Festival there is a series of other activities characterized by a strong social care.


Formation
Lucania Film School takes life from the activities of the Lucania Film Festival. It is a formation project for the study and the research on the audiovisual languages in which film makers, researchers, Cinema teachers, professionals of the sector, experienced and passionate young people are involved. The Lucania Film School is an introductory experience in comparison to the permanent School of Cinema that, beginning from the competence acquired in the circle of the formative activities carried out from Allelammie and the consolidated relationships that the association has built with experts of the world of Cinema, it is certainly prefigured as a within reach objective. The purpose of the permanent cinematic school of Lucania (Lucania Film School) is becoming an important point of reference in the panorama of the national cinematic formation. It represents, in this way, an opportunity for the young people from Lucania who love the Seventh Art and that are generally forced to emigrate for concretizing their own passion. These are precise formative purposes with which activities have been programmed within the Short list regional culture 2005:

The first cinematic Campus of the Basilicata, MadesudeMagia, which has hit on the head the purpose forming a high sensibility in the young students, coming mostly from the region itself, but also from the other Italian regions and from foreign countries.

Formation for the teachers of the primary schools of Basilicata region, a cinematic course for the teachers of the elementary schools of Basilicata region that intend to activate some courses of audiovisual language in their primary schools, will be carried out beginning from January.

The formative proposals in cinematic field proposed by Allelammie also include the realization of courses related to the cinematic production phases, destined both to private and government schools. The formation in the primary schools comes from a strong awareness of informing and forming the youngest people on subjects related to environment, social solidarity, challenges of the complexity, through the cinema as an instrument for that: For instance, the TgWeb , the project of Newscast in the classroom on internet, has the purpose to involve the young people in the analysis and in the critical reading of the television information and to prepare them to the understanding and the interpretation of the phenomenons of the communication in general, through the creation of a newscast realized by themselves. Courses of cinematic writing, of resumption and editing, carried out and still to carry out, are some of the formative possibilities offered by Allelammie that uses five editing positions (Apple), as concrete support of these specific activities.




Market
For its geographical position in the Mediterranean Europe, for its international cinematic appeal, and for the absence of an “heavy” industry of reference to the seventh art, Basilicata region stands as a candidate for becoming the forge of new strategies of the audiovisual market, in which experimenting new sketches for the raising of the sector. The world of the audiovisuals, from pre-production to post-production, covers a very vast field, from cinema to television, from documentaries to publicity. For such reasons, considering that it is a field that can produce a financial relapse in real terms, national and local public administrations, in our case of the area Euromed , are becoming aware that the audiovisual production, can be today a decisive element of economic growth, apart from industrial, tourist and cultural promotion. In turn this field involves a crowd of services and correlated affairs – Independent Film makers, Film Commissions, Film Institutes, Location and Production territorial marketing for tourism, to quote only some of it. In the area in matter, there are not occasions that promote the meeting between the request and the offer, or they can be sporadic and isolated initiatives. On the base of such observations, which come from studies of the sector, the territory of Lucania is a proper stage to give hospitality to an International Saloon of the Cinema , "to situate" affairs that have few occasions to meet; creating a crossroad of professionals of the sector, giving them the opportunity to debate and interchange points of view and experiences, aiming to create an occasion for business, but also for exchanging experiences and information of film commissions, directors, photography directors, production managers, production inspectors, location managers, scene directors, manufacturing and creative advertising, film institutes and related services;
to stimulate the knowledge and the relationships by facilitating the meeting among different parts. To stimulate a comparison with the traditional cinema, with the world of the formation, of the communication, of the TV issuing, of the digital cinema, of the radios, of the digital and satellite editing, and in a particular way with the weakest realities of audiovisual production.

A meeting between sellers and buyers of the whole process of production, from the independent labels to the big majors of the documentary television market, to the religious cinema, to all the artistic genres and the subgenres , on an organizational base which is articulated on four parts:

For its landscape and its architectural and cultural peculiarities the Basilicata region has a great value in comparison with other international locations and a proper aspect for specific cinematic scenes. If you think of the films made in the last 20 years you understand that the territory of Lucania is one of the most suggestive sets of the world. The carat of the kolossals in which the Basilicata has been protagonist is another example. Not only. The “atypical” cinematic productions as the documentary and advertising ones, are always more interested in our communities. Then the increasing local "request", above all of the young authors, mostly stimulates the necessity of constituting a regional agency of territorial marketing which could:

individualize the potentialities of the human, professional, economic and financial proper resources which can be used to satisfy the needs of the sector;

form know-how to face the evolutions in the audiovisual sector;

attract national and foreign cinematic and television productions, promoting as location the Cities, the Coasts, the Forests, the Churches, the Castles, the Rural Cultures and on the other hand guaranteeing them a supply of services that facilitates the process of production;

furnish logistic and professional resources, favouring the constitution of a network of enterprises interested in the sector, through the sensitivity to the cultural and economic value and the possibilities of exploitation of its own resources;

A regional agency of territorial marketing that works with some territorial associations, professional studies, cooperatives ad hoc, is going to form some Studios on the territory, places where you can satisfy further needs that the territory does not offer. It is actually a structure which can create artificial sets, guaranteeing to the productions the possibility of completing the semi-worked things (post-production included). The creation of these places and of studios of pre-production and post-production would guarantee the diversification of the cinematic services that the System of Lucania cannot distribute. The Studios assure their function even in lack of great majors, as able to satisfy the request of the small local cinematic realities and the not local ones.
