Synopsis:
Against Forgettingracconta le storie di quattro protagonisti a Diyarbakir, una città del Kurdistan del Nord, in un contesto di turbolenze politiche. Nel settembre 2016, il Presidente turco ha nominato commissari straordinari al posto dei funzionari eletti nei comuni filo-curdi, privando così le comunità del potere di autogoverno. Nonostante ciò, i protagonisti sono determinati a preservare la cultura curda attraverso la terra, il corpo, il cibo e la musica. Nel corso del racconto, si delineano incontri epici tra bene e male su uno sfondo carico di drammaticità.
Against Forgetting narrates the stories of four participants in Diyarbakir, a city in Northern Kurdistan, amidst political turmoil. In September 2016, the Turkish President appointed trustees to replace elected officials in pro-Kurdish municipalities, stripping away the power of local governance. Despite this, the participants are devoted to preserving Kurdish culture through land, body, food, and music. As their stories unfold, epic encounters between good and evil emerge on a dramatic stage.

Il suono arcaico di questi canti poetici, che cambia da villaggio a villaggio, viene tramandato di generazione in generazione.
The unique, centuries-old art of a capella male singing of Sardinia is still practiced and cultivated with devotion. In the film, this interior sound – as the breath of the soul – resonates with the diverse nature and landscape of the island. The archaic sound of these poetic songs, which differ from village to village, is passed down from generation to generation.

Il film ritrae Linda attraverso le telecamere di sorveglianza che installa e la segue nel suo percorso fino al momento in cui uno schermo riflette un cambiamento decisivo nella sua vita.
Linda is a young woman working as an electrician in Milan. Her days unfold as she moves from one construction site to another. She visits elegant homes, warehouses, building lobbies, basements, and the porter’s lodges of historic buildings. She shares the reactions of the people she meets and how it still feels unusual for them to call a technician and see a woman show up. The film captures Linda’s image through the surveillance cameras she installs, and follows her journey up to the moment a screen reflects a decisive change in her life.

57 is the number of female weavers who work on the coasts of the Basque Country, a traditional occupation that they continue as if time had stopped. With their hands covered in salt, they silently weave without stopping. They are part of the sea and its mystery. The radio alert of a ship breaks the night, a lighthouse illuminates everything with its light, a sailor drifts through the thoughts of the water and several hands dance and dance until they merge with the nets.
