Con la promulgazione delle leggi razziali, viene privato del titolo, separato dalla moglie e dalla figlia, sottoposto a castrazione chimica e imprigionato nei campi di concentramento di Wittenberge e Neuengamme, dove morirà a 37 anni.

Johann Wilhelm Trollmann became middleweight champion in Nazi Germany. He was the first Sinto, or “Gypsy,” to win this title in world boxing. He was famous for his fighting style, which resembled a dance. With the promulgation of the racial laws, he was stripped of his title, separated from his wife and daughter, subjected to chemical castration, and imprisoned in the concentration camps of Wittenberge and Neuengamme, where he died at age 37.
