Talk “Il corvo e i suoi fratelli”

Eugenio Imbriani è professore associato di Antropologia culturale e Storia delle tradizioni popolari nell’Università del Salento, e afferisce al Dipartimento di Storia, società, studi sull’uomo. È in servizio presso l’ateneo leccese dal 2000; in precedenza, dal 1989, è stato in servizio presso l’Università della Basilicata. I suoi interessi sono orientati allo studio del folklore, ai temi della cultura popolare, della scrittura e dell’esperienza etnografica, ai rapporti tra memoria e oblio nella produzione dei patrimoni culturali e dei discorsi sulle identità locali. Ha prodotto numerose pubblicazioni, monografie, saggi apparsi su riviste, in volumi collettanei, atti di convegni; è direttore della rivista “Palaver”; dirige la Sezione etnografica del Museo Civico di Giuggianello (Le). Eugenio Imbriani parteciperà al Talk scenico sul tema del Festival: “Il corvo e i suoi fratelli”.

Eugenio Imbriani teaches Cultural Anthropology at the Università del Salento, in the Department of History, Society and Human Studies. From 1989 to 1999, he was affiliated with the Università della Basilicata; he has been affiliated with the University of Lecce since 2000. His research interests and activities regard the study of folklore, themes in folk culture, ethnographic writing and experience, the relationship between memory and oblivion in the production of cultural heritage and of discourses on local identity. He has published numerous articles, monographs and essays in reviews, edited volumes and conference proceedings. His fieldwork is mainly southern Italy, where long time he studied the rituals and devotional practices, he collected life stories, investigated the mechanisms of construction of the past and the heritage’s production; he faced this same theme in recent years also in Albania. He is editor in chief of “Palaver”. Since 2010 he directs the Ethnographic section of the Civic Museum of Giuggianello (southern Italy, province of Lecce). Eugenio Imbriani will take part in the scenic Talk about the Festival’s subject: “The Crow and Its  Brothers”.
