Somayeh Haghnegahdar è una regista e montatrice iraniana, residente in Italia dal 2022. Laureata in Cinema presso l’Università d’Arte di Teheran, ha conseguito un Master in Informazione, Culture e Organizzazione dei Media presso l’Università di Bologna. Con oltre 25 anni di esperienza come montatrice, ha collaborato a film premiati e presentati in importanti festival internazionali, tra cui Sundance, IDFA e Clermont-Ferrand. Il suo lungometraggio documentario, Dear Paper Stars, è attualmente in produzione in Italia. È inoltre autrice e regista di cortometraggi, tra cui Fotografia in stile iraniano. Membro dell’Iranian Independent Filmmakers Association (IIFMA) e di 100Autori, sostiene e promuove il cinema indipendente come spazio di libertà artistica, ascolto e attenzione alla dignità umana.

Somayeh Haghnegahdar is an Iranian filmmaker and film editor based in Italy since 2022. She graduated in Cinema from the University of Art in Tehran and later earned a Master’s degree in Information, Culture and Media Organization from the University of Bologna. With over 25 years of experience as a film editor, she has collaborated on films awarded and presented at major international festivals, including Sundance, IDFA, and Clermont-Ferrand. Her feature-length documentary, Dear Paper Stars, is currently in production in Italy. She is also the writer and director of short films, including Iranian-Style Photography. A member of the Iranian Independent Filmmakers Association (IIFMA) and 100Autori, she supports and promotes independent cinema as a space for artistic freedom, listening, and attention to human dignity.

Nancy Mounir è una compositrice, musicista, arrangiatrice e artista del suono egiziana, nata ad Alessandria e residente al Cairo. Polistrumentista versatile, è una figura chiave della scena musicale alternativa egiziana. Contribuisce con composizioni originali a produzioni teatrali, cinematografiche e installazioni artistiche internazionali. Attraverso una varietà di strumenti, tra cui violino, pianoforte, basso, Theremin e i tradizionali flauti egiziani, Mounir esplora sia i principi armonici del canone occidentale sia gli aspetti microtonali della musica tradizionale. Il suo acclamato album di debutto da solista, Nozhet El Nofous, è una trascendente esplorazione della libertà musicale attraverso la lente di registrazioni d’archivio risalenti a un secolo fa.

Nancy Mounir is an Egyptian composer, musician, arranger, and sound artist born in Alexandria and living in Cairo. She is a versatile multi-instrumentalist and a key member of Egypt’s alternative music scene. She contributes original compositions to theater productions, films, and international art installations. Through a range of instruments, including violin, piano, bass, Theremin, and the traditional Egyptian flutes. Mounir explores both the harmonic principles of the western canon and the microtonal aspects of traditional music . Her recently released, highly acclaimed debut solo album Nozhet El Nofous is a transcendent exploration of musical freedom through the lens of century-old archival recordings.

Rochelle Macapili-Ona è membro dell’Ordine degli Avvocati delle Filippine e Direttrice Esecutiva del Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), il principale e più longevo festival cinematografico annuale delle Filippine, incarico che ricopre dal settembre 2018. Il Festival rappresenta la principale piattaforma nazionale per la presentazione di film e cineasti filippini di spicco. In qualità di Direttrice Esecutiva, l’Avv. Ona si occupa della pianificazione, della gestione e dell’attuazione dei programmi, delle attività e degli eventi dell’MMFF, come le proiezioni cinematografiche, i forum di settore, gli incontri culturali, la Parata delle Stelle e la Cerimonia di Premiazione. Collabora a stretto contatto con registi, produttori, gestori di sale cinematografiche, enti locali, agenzie governative e altri stakeholder per promuovere gli obiettivi del Festival e favorire la continua crescita del cinema filippino. Ha inoltre fatto parte della giuria della prima edizione del Summer Metro Manila Film Festival, un evento epocale che ha ampliato le opportunità per i film e il pubblico filippino, estendendole oltre la tradizionale stagione di fine anno. Oltre ai suoi incarichi presso il MMFF, l’Avv. Ona è stata membro del consiglio di amministrazione del Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), l’agenzia governativa filippina incaricata di sviluppare, promuovere e preservare il cinema filippino. In questo ruolo, l’FDCP supporta i cineasti, incoraggia la produzione cinematografica e promuove i film filippini a livello nazionale e internazionale.

Rochelle Macapili-Ona is a member of the Philippine Bar and the Executive Director of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), is the Philippines’ premier and longest-running annual film festival, a position she has held since September 2018. The Festival serves as the country’s leading platform for showcasing outstanding Filipino films and filmmakers. As Executive Director, Atty. Ona leads the planning, operations, and implementation of the MMFF’s programs, activities, and events such as the film screenings, industry forums, cultural engagements, Parade of Stars and Awards Night. She works closely with filmmakers, producers, cinema operators, local government units, government agencies, and other stakeholders in advancing the objectives of the Festival and promoting the continued growth of Philippine cinema. She also served as a Member of the Board of Jurors of the inaugural Summer Metro Manila Film Festival, a landmark edition of the Festival that expanded opportunities for Filipino films and audiences beyond the traditional year-end season. Alongside her duties at the MMFF , Atty. Ona has served as a Member of the Board of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), the Philippine government agency mandated to develop, promote, and preserve Philippine cinema. In this role, the FDCP supports filmmakers, encourages film production, and showcases Filipino films both locally and internationally.

Hayet Benkara è una consulente del settore cinematografico di origine francese, residente tra Toronto e Parigi. Per oltre 15 anni ha avuto il privilegio di lavorare al TIFF, il Toronto International Film Festival, sotto la direzione di Piers Handling e Cameron Bailey. È stata responsabile del mercato e del TIFF Studio, il primo programma di formazione annuale per professionisti del cinema (produttori, registi e sceneggiatori), tuttora attivo. Ha inoltre ideato il TIFF Talent Lab, che si svolge durante il festival. Benkara ha lavorato per numerosi prestigiosi festival cinematografici internazionali, tra cui Cannes, Berlinale, Locarno, Ritterdam, Marrakech (Ateliers de l’Atlas), Abu Dhabi e Guanajuato, solo per citarne alcuni. Ha lanciato i dipartimenti dedicati all’industria cinematografica a Dubai e al DFI (Doha Film Institute). Nel 2021 ha lanciato Le Nouveau Marché, un mercato di coproduzione “boutique” nell’ambito del Festival du nouveau cinéma di Montréal, creando un ponte tra il Nord America e il resto del mondo. Grazie alla sua vasta rete internazionale e al suo approccio olistico all’industria cinematografica, viene spesso invitata a far parte di giurie, a condurre workshop e a moderare dibattiti su argomenti legati al settore. Durante tutto l’anno, Hayet offre consulenza a produttori e registi di tutto il mondo in materia di sviluppo, produzione, coproduzione, distribuzione, marketing e strategie per i festival.

Hayet Benkara is a French-born, Toronto and Paris-based film industry advisor.
For over 15 years she had the privilege to work at TIFF, the Toronto International Film Festival, under the stewardship of Piers Handling and Cameron Bailey. She was the Manager of the market and TIFF Studio, the first year-round training programme for film professionals (producers, directors, and screenwriters) still running until this day. She also produced TIFF Talent Lab which takes place during the festival. Benkara worked for many prestigious International film festivals such as Cannes, Berlinale,Locarno, Ritterdam, Marrakech ( Ateliers de l’Atlas), Abu Dhabi, Guanajuato to name a few. She launched the industry departments in Dubai and DFI (Doha Film Institute). In 2021, she launched le Nouveau Marché, a ‘’boutique’’coproduction market as part of the Festival du nouveau cinéma in Montreal, creating a bridge between north America and the rest of the world.  Because of her extensive international network and holistic approach to the film industry, she is often invited to be on Juries and conduct workshops,  moderate panels on topics related to the film industry. Year round Hayet advises producers and directors from all over the world on development, production, co-production, distribution, marketing, and festival strategies.
